FAQs
Never cold dip alone, always make sure you have someone with you. Don’t push yourself too hard, too soon – make sure to slowly build up your cold dips. Get warm and dry fast afterwards, especially if you’re dipping outdoors. Please make sure to read through our Safety Precautions page for further advice on how to keep safe.
Anyone over the age of 18.
If you have underlying health conditions (i.e. heart disease, asthma, lung conditions) or any other medical conditions that might be affected by exposure to cold water, or if you are pregnant, then please seek appropriate medical advice before proceeding.
For online donations we recommend setting up a Just Giving page which is quick and easy to do! Just follow this link to get started. Make sure to do regular updates throughout the month to document your progress and keep the donations coming in. We have also got a sponsorship form attached at the end of this pack if you would prefer to collect cash sponsorships.
Fundraising Tip: do weekly updates and show your progress e.g. adding time on to your at home training each week. Keep sharing your Just Giving page to keep supporters engaged.
We trust our participants to complete the challenge month to the best of their abilities, but we recommend regular updates on social media or Just Giving to get the most sponsorships possible.
Yes – the more the merrier! We would love groups to get involved and keep each other on track for the New Year.
We do not recommend outdoor swimming, unless under supervision by trained staff. We recommend these alternatives instead: If you do decide to swim outdoors at your own risk never swim alone and find a local outdoor swimming group to join.
