Equality & Diversity

We are committed to eliminating discrimination and encouraging diversity amongst our workforce, to provide equality and fairness for our employees and those engaged in our services and not to discriminate because of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, ethnic origin, colour, nationality, national origin, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation.

We see gender specific and gender considered provision to be a highly effective way of providing support to women, and often those who have experiences of trauma. We work within the framework of the The Equality Duty Act (2010), which makes it clear that women-only services are legal and appropriate in certain contexts - where it can be shown to be the most effective way of providing those services or where the service is needed by one sex only.

In 2014 we were delighted to be awarded the title of National European Social Fund (ESF) Gender Equality Leader. This award recognises our success in engaging women into ESF funded activity, and our wider work to share our expertise with others about the benefits of a gendered considered approach in service delivery.
