Lancashire Women are providing a free group called NeuroThrive for those people on the waiting list for an ADHD/Autism Assessment in Lancashire and South Cumbria.
NeuroThrive is an 8 week online wellbeing group (via Zoom) from Lancashire Women for people who think they may be neurodivergent and are currently on the NHS waiting list for an ADHD and/or autism assessment.
If you’re feeling anxious, low, stressed or stuck in constant worry, NeuroThrive offers a supportive, informative and interactive space to help.
This NeuroThrive group has been designed to support patients on the NHS waiting list who may have ADHD/Autism and struggling with anxiety, low mood, stress and worry.
This Group support is offered over 8 weekly sessions, running for 2 hours per session, with breaks in between.
It can offer those attending the opportunity to learn strategies, tools and techniques to help with their emotional wellbeing by addressing difficulties and discussing new topics each week. The sessions are accompanied by information sent out to the clients at each session, building up a useful ‘Toolbox’ to access when needed.

About the group
Over eight weekly 2 hour sessions, we’ll share neuro affirming tools, gentle strategies and practical techniques to support emotional wellbeing, build confidence and develop self compassion.
Each session comes with a short handout, so you can build your own ‘Tool Box’ of ideas to practice between sessions and return to whenever you need.
What does it include?
Week 1 – Introduction to neurodivergence and practical techniques for promoting calm and focus.
Week 2 – Self-compassion; mindful curiosity of thoughts, feelings and body signals.
Week 3 – Emotional regulation; building emotional awareness & neuro-friendly regulation strategies
Week 4 – Understanding masking, communication, connection and community
Week 5 – Sensory wellbeing for supporting mental health & wellbeing.
Week 6 – A positive identity; developing self-acceptance & understanding
Week 7 – Burnout: strategies for recovery, prevention and sustainable self-care.
Week 8 – What Matters Most: participant chosen topics, overall reflections and bringing the group to a close.

We will contact you to arrange an Initial Assessment. Please add our contact number to your address book so you know its us when we call you back 0300 330 1354 (local rate).
Is the group in a centre?
This group is online via Zoom so you can take part at home.
Do I have to pay?
No, this group is free for people who are currently on the waiting list for an ADHD Assessment in Lancashire and South Cumbria.
Is there a waiting list for this group?
We have experienced a high level of enquiries about this group. Please bear with us whilst we process these referrals. We will be in touch with course start dates as soon as they have been scheduled.
Is this course/group mandatory – will I get further up the list by being on this course? The course is not mandatory, and it will not affect your place on the ADHD/Autism assessment list.
Who are Lancashire Women? I thought this was the NHS?
Lancashire Women are a leading charity supporting people in Lancashire to improve their lives. Part of our service is to provide the NHS East Lancashire Talking Therapies which is delivered by Lancashire Women.
NeuroThrive has been set up aimed at those with symptoms of ADHD/Autism and anxiety, and helps participants manage stress, anxiety and overwhelm. We are able to offer this course to people in Lancashire and South Cumbria.
Do I lose my place in the waiting list if I come on this course? No
When will I be given a course date? A course date will be offered on assessment, if due to times and days you are unable to accept any of the dates, we add you to a waiting list and contact you with the next available date.
Is the course suitable for me if I am already diagnosed? Yes! The course has plenty of helpful tools that people who have already been diagnosed with ADHD/Autism can use and find helpful.
Will there be other people on Zoom? Yes. The group is for up to 25 people.
Do I have to have my camera on? Yes, for verifying your identity and then you can switch it off if you want to.
