You are not alone. And you deserve support too.

Lancashire Women is proud to introduce our new Family Addiction Support Group: a free, safe and welcoming space for anyone in Lancashire who has been affected by a loved one’s addiction. Whether you are currently supporting someone through their struggle, or you are carrying the long-term impact of a family member’s addiction – including bereavement – this group is for you.

- Emotional support from others who truly understand
- Access to local resources and Lancashire Women services
Who Is This Group For?
Our Family Addiction Support Group is open to anyone aged 16 or over – male or female – across Lancashire who:
- Has a partner, family member or friend currently struggling with addiction
- Has been affected by a loved one’s addiction in the past, including those who have experienced bereavement as a result
- Is looking for connection, understanding and a safe space to talk
You do not need to be referred. You do not need to already be working with Lancashire Women. You do not need to book in advance. Simply come along.
Why Families Need Support Too
Research consistently shows that addiction affects the entire family and not just the individual struggling with it. Partners, parents, siblings and children of people living with addiction are at significantly higher risk of stress, anxiety, depression and isolation.
Yet family members are often the last to seek support for themselves, putting the needs of their loved one above their own wellbeing.
At Lancashire Women, we believe that supporting the family is just as important as supporting the individual. Our Family Addiction Support Group exists to make sure you are not forgotten in that journey.
