What is Race Across Lancashire?

Our challenger teams of two will be competing to travel around Lancashire to reach checkpoints, complete challenges and be the first to finish – all whilst only using public transport and limited budgets. No Google Maps or phone data to hand, so they’ll all be relying on paper maps, their wits, and the generosity of the local communities to get them to the finish line!

Inspired by the hit TV show, our 2-day route will see them take on over 200 miles across the county to reach 8 checkpoints on their journey, with each checkpoint revealing a new obstacle for teams to overcome.

If you see any of our lovely teams out and about on the Saturday or Sunday make sure to say hi, and if you’re able donate to their fundraising efforts please do!

Why is this fundraising event important?

Alongside our organisation’s excitement to celebrate the past four decades supporting women and their families across Lancashire, this event is about much more than an anniversary – it is about raising crucial funds for local women.

Lancashire Women support 6000 women on average each year across the county with a trauma-informed, female-specific service offer. Our services are available to all women, but as a charity we seek to work alongside particularly vulnerable women or those at risk of significant harm.

We help women and their families to:

Improve their mental health and emotional wellbeing

Get advice on managing money, benefits and debt

Improve skills, knowledge and gain employment.

Reduce isolation and build relationships with peers.

There is someone who needs you today, and your donation can change her life.

£3 would go towards keeping our community hubs warm and stocked with brews for women that walk through our doors.

£11 would pay for a 30-minute consultation with one of our money advisors.

£24 would provide a counselling session for a woman struggling with their mental health & wellbeing.

£49 would mean a client gets an at home energy visit with one of our trained energy advisors.
