As a Lancashire Women Volunteer we will provide you with support and training to make a difference in women’s lives within your local community. You will also learn transferable skills that will help you with your own personal journey of self-discovery and development.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be over 18
  • Applicants must be available to volunteer for a minimum of 4 hours per week and for at least 6 months
  • If application is successful, there will be induction training 1 day a week, starting Wednesday 17th September 2025. 9:30am-2:30pm for 4 weeks.
  • A DBS check will be required

What happens next

Stage 1 – Complete and Submit application form

Stage 2 – If we feel that Lancashire Women would be the right place for you, a member of the team will get in touch to discuss your application further.

Stage 3 – You will be asked to attend our next Volunteer Induction which will include information and interviews.

Stage 4 – Successful applicants will be invited to join the team and begin your training with us.

Stage 5 – Your volunteering journey with Lancashire Women will begin with us as a highly skilled volunteer

Volunteer Receptionist / Meet & Greet (Blackpool)

Do you enjoy meeting new people and offering a friendly welcome? We’re looking for warm, approachable volunteers to join our team at the Lancashire Women Blackpool Hub — a safe, supportive space where women access vital services such as counselling, peer groups, money advice, and more.

As a front desk volunteer, you’ll be the first friendly face our clients see. Your warm welcome can make a huge difference to a woman walking through our doors for the first time.

Your Role:

  • Greet women and families with a friendly, non-judgmental approach
  • Create a calm, welcoming environment
  • Offer refreshments or reassurance to those feeling anxious
  • Check in clients using our paper or digital system
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Notify staff when clients arrive
  • Provide basic information or directions when needed
  • General ‘tidying up duties’ whenever a hand is needed in the hub

What You’ll Gain:

Hub & Group Support Volunteer (Blackpool)

What does a group support volunteer do?

There’s always something going on at Lancashire Women – whether that’s Creative Journalling, Vision Diary, Steps to Confidence, Art Therapy or our Mind Fit programme. As a group support volunteer, you would play a key role in helping the group facilitators.

Role description

  • Meeting and greeting group participants and taking the register,
  • Managing resources for the group facilitator,
  • One-to-one support when needed,
  • Helping to create a positive and welcoming atmosphere.

Expectation

  • Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times in relation to electronic files, paperwork and verbal discussions.
  • To work within the policies and procedures of Lancashire Women and uphold this ethos at all times
  • Commit to a regular time and day ( at least 3 hours) for a period of 6 months or longer
  • A willingness to have a DBS check.
