The event will be a fun, family friendly event with all welcome. At 10am we aim to all walk together - no one will be left behind! A chance to talk, socialise and exercise all at the same time! Too far to walk? You can still get involved! Why not catch the tram to Bispham and walk back with us or sponsor one of our walkers.
Why 14.9K?
This year our walk is 14.9k, starting from the glitter ball to Bispham Tram station and back to the Glitter ball. We picked 14.9 as this is the current percentage for the gender pay gap in the UK [TUC UK, 2023]. We feel as a women's organisation this is an important statistic to highlight.
The Gender Pay Gap currently stands at 14.9%. That means the average woman in paid employment effectively works for free for nearly two months of the year compared to the average man in paid employment.

Women disproportionately experience inequality and disadvantage because of gender and for that reason Lancashire Women exists to enable them to have choices for their lives and to feel they can take their place in society.
There is someone who needs you today, and your donation can change her life.
£3 would cover resources for a confidence cafe session in our centre.
£5 would go towards helping a woman find the right training to build her skills.
£10 would help us answer a call from a women worried about money issues.
£20 would help provide a caseworker for a woman to create a personal action plan and support her from CV writing to interview prep.
