The Gender Pay Gap

20th November was Equal Pay Day, led by The Fawcett Society

It marks the point in the year when women effectively stop being paid compared to men due to the pay gap. This year, Equal Pay Day falls two days earlier than last year, highlighting a concerning step backwards for gender equality. The UK’s mean gender pay gap has widened for the first time since 2013, now at 11.3%, up from 10.4% in 2023.

It’s time to demand action. Closing the gender pay gap isn’t just a women’s issue—it’s a societal and economic imperative.
